Northwest Communities Visioning Workshops

NORTHWEST COMMUNITIES VISIONING WORKSHOPS

Facilitated by the River of Lakes Heritage Corridor Scenic Highway, Corridor Management Entity, these workshops will focusing on the DeLeon Springs, Barberville, Pierson and Seville communities. The workshops are designed to allow residents, business owners and elected officials to provide input related to maintaining rural character and developing a future vision for their communities.

Workshop meeting schedule:

  • Next meeting Mar. 17th, 18th, 19th at the Seville School

Previous meetings:

June 11, 2009 at 6:30 p.m.
Pierson Community Center 124 W. Washington Ave.
This workshop addressed:

  • Wishes for community improvements related to walkability, pedestrian safety and traffic calming;
  • Land-use and planning recommendations to maintain rural community character; and
  • Conceptual welcome signage and landmark recognition along the scenic highway.

July 6th, 2009 - Visual Preference Survey. Citizen based photography by local volunteers to capture key areas identifying elements contributing to the rural character of our community.
